June Paxton Batten Mrs. Batten, 72, died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Sardis Oaks Nursing Center. She was born in Charlotte, NC, on March 1, 1937, daughter of the late Sam Paxton and Laura Black Paxton. She was a graduate of Central High School and was retired from First Union Bank, Trust Division as a Vice President. She was a member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church and was a former member of Chalmers Memorial A.R.P. Church. She was predeceased by a son, Cameron Paxton. She is survived by a son, Sam Batten and his wife Bobbi of Wetumpka, AL; step-sons, Jeff Batten and Dave Batten, both of Wilmington, NC; two grandchildren, Samantha Batten of Auburn, AL and Kristen Davis of Tallassee, AL; 4 great grandchildren, Hannah Rudisill and Rachel Rudisill, both of Auburn, AL, Riley Davis and Ivy Davis of Tallassee, AL. A service to celebrate her life will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009, in the Chapel of Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service. Interment will be private.
